When I first walked into the Lovelady family’s West Little Rock home for their lifestyle newborn session, I immediately thought “who designed this?!” A few seconds later, I heard an excited and energetic “Hi Brittany!!” and immediately knew this one was going to be EXTRA special! Elise was finishing up feeding her sweet baby girl, and was beaming ear to ear. When I tell you that this beautiful mama is head-over-heels in love with her daughter, that’s an understatement! And their home… well, you’ll see what I mean. GORGEOUS!!
Paul and Elise worked together like seasoned parents and big fur-brother Jocko was on his best behavior! Little Miss Lottie gave us plenty of awake time and I even got some eye contact! One of the things I love about this natural approach to in-home lifestyle newborn photography is that it really doesn’t matter if baby is awake or asleep, since we’re not trying to put them into complicated poses.
For me personally, I prefer awake so you can have photos of those beautiful newborn eyes. Then, ss they get older (4-6 weeks), they’ll become more alert and start interacting with you! Although at that point, keep in mind that baby probably won’t fit into the “burrito baby” swaddle anymore 😉 Ultimately what matters most is that you have the pictures taken, whether your baby is 5 days or 5 weeks! Just don’t miss it!
If you’re reading this and happen to be looking for baby girl nursery design inspiration, look no further! Elise’s good friend and incredibly talented interior designer, Ashley Childers, had a hand in making this home come together so artfully. Take a look and you’ll see why I am OBSESSED with this one!
