When teenagers fall in love, no one expects it to last very long. How can they really understand love at that age, right? They go through monumental changes during those years, gradually grow apart, then go their separate ways. When Callie Akers noticed a cute redheaded boy named Jordan in her very first high school class, she knew that she wanted to get to know him. A few weeks later, she worked up a ploy to start a conversation with him by texting him for help with homework, even though she was acing that class. It worked! Their love story started in a 9th grade geometry class, and 8 years later they began a beautiful new chapter as husband and wife. Theirs is the kind of story you think only exists in Nicholas Sparks novels and 15-year-olds’ daydreams. Jordan & Callie are the exception.
Their legacy is one for the books. Their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents have paved the way with an incredible streak of faithful marriages. Callie & Jordan cherish the precious gift that there is no history of divorce in their family. Family means the world to them, which was displayed in detailed, thoughtful ways throughout their wedding day.
Callie and her dad built a bench together, which served as the guest book! She wore a necklace of her new initials, which was a gift from her mother on the morning of the wedding, and shared an incredibly emotional dance with her dad at the reception. Jordan was helped with the final prep by his dad, as he prepared to see his bride for the first time. The laughs they shared in those moments were priceless! And oh, the love of a mother. The look in Jordan’s mother’s eyes as she watched her son marry the love of his life, and as she danced with him during the Mother-Son dance would bring anyone to tears.
The design of their wedding made our photographer hearts dance! Christmas trees, lights, gold, glitter, mistletoe, a cozy red blanket, gorgeous floral arrangements, pearls, and lace! Oh. My. It may have been 15 degrees with the wind chill, but this winter wedding was absolute perfection.
Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Taylor!!
