Jack & Makenzie | A Riverside Heber Springs Wedding

If you read our last post about Shane & Alyssa, you know how much we love shooting other photographers’ weddings! Well, here’s another one! Makenzie is a photographer and Jack is a videographer, so this couple knows their stuff! We were honored when they met with us over coffee and asked us to shoot their engagements and wedding.

About 5 minutes into their engagement session, we knew that this couple is something special! Words cannot express the deep, passionate love these two displayed just by looking into each other’s eyes.  They were such naturals and so engrossed in each other, we hardly had to do any posing!

Reid and I knew after the engagement session that their wedding day would be awesome, but we had NO idea! We all prayed hard against the dreary forecast for their outdoor riverside wedding, and God answered! It rained all morning, but stopped before festivities started, and didn’t start back up until we were leaving the reception! Every detail was beautiful and personal. Makenzie used the sleeves from her wedding dress for her bouquet and garter, made her own veil, had plaid shirts monogrammed for her bridesmaids, and they decorated their reception with their vintage camera collection. I think her white Converse shoes are my favorite personal touch!

We LOVE it when our couples want to do a first look! Being in the photography business, Jack & Makenzie understood all of the pros of seeing each other before the ceremony. On the way to the venue to see Jack, Makenzie was completely giddy and somewhat in shock of what was about to come! When she got out of the car and saw Jack standing at the end of the aisle she squealed “Can you believe this is happening right now?! Don’t turn around!” Jack was awestruck when he turned around to see his stunning bride.

After finishing Jack & Makenzie’s portraits, we met their wedding party. Makenzie’s bridesmaids were gorgeous in their handpicked dresses, and Jack’s groomsmen kept us laughing for the rest of the day!

What happens when you put a newly married couple with funny, outgoing personalities in a room with 100+ of their closest college friends and turn up the music? This! Even the parents and grandparents joined in on the party!
