Trevor & Julia An October Cross Iron Cottage Wedding

This sounds cliche’, but I 100% wholeheartedly mean it when I say that this day was PERFECT!! Let’s start with the obvious fact that Trevor and Julia are a GORGEOUS couple! A State Trooper and a K-9 Officer with good looks and the kindest hearts… just wow. Then you add 3 beautiful children to the mix, and my gosh what an incredible family.

Then there was the weather. My heart was broken for all of the couples in our area getting married on 10/10/2020, because despite what a cool date and normally perfect time of year, there was a tropical storm moving through. Just hours before the big day, the forecast was showing a 90% chance of heavy rain ALL day, and wind gusts up to 20 mph. I’m still in shock that not only did it not rain, but they even had a beautiful sunset right after their ceremony! And the wind just made for some beautiful flowy veil portraits 🙂

Trevor and Julia are one of those couples that as soon as you meet them, you know how perfect they are for each other. Their personalities bring out the best in each other, and they’re a true joy to be around. And don’t get me started on the emotional letters they wrote to each other to read on their wedding day. So. Many. Tears. Trevor, you had a whole room of women crying over that letter! Good job 😉

One of my favorite personal touches they included in their wedding day was the “unity tree.” Instead of one of the traditional unity symbols, they did something unique to their story. They took dirt from their family’s land and planted a small tree. Now they will plant that tree in the ground on their own land, where they’ve spent the last several months building their first home.

I’ve had the privilege of knowing Julia for 15 years, and getting to watch her grow into an incredible, strong, beautiful woman. It was an honor to get to photograph her marry the love of her life, and to celebrate with these two families as they joined into one. Thank you, Trevor and Julia for trusting me with the memories of one of the greatest days of your life! Congratulations!!
