Once upon a time, a dashing young gentleman met a beautiful young lady at a church singles’ retreat. The gentleman was very attracted to the lady, but much to his dismay, she was quite apprehensive toward him. The gentleman felt a strong connection to the lady, and would not let her go as simply as that. He continued to pursue her until she finally decided to give him a chance.  One date was all it took for the gentleman to capture her heart, and shortly thereafter they fell madly in love.

Much to the lady’s surprise, the gentleman began plotting the perfect proposal. One beautiful autumn afternoon, he took her to a wild sunflower field, knelt down on one knee and asked the lady’s hand in marriage, to which she replied with a resounding “Yes!” And thus, #onceuponagimnich was born!

Layne and Maddy are the kind of people that everyone wants to be friends with. Their charming, bubbly, friendly, and outgoing personalities brighten any room they enter. They love local coffee shops, anything sweet, and Tacos For Life. Layne is the man to thank for getting Reid hooked on crazy socks and The Tie Bar. Maddy is a master of headband making, and even better at styling them herself! Most importantly, though, is their rock solid faith in Jesus Christ and their desire to love and serve Him through everything that they do.

Their wedding day represented who they are as individuals and as a couple remarkably well! They made their love for color, social media, sunflowers, DIY, friends and family, coffee, romance, and God mesh together beautifully. Layne and Maddy are two of the most adventurous, fun-loving, creative, thoughtful, kind-hearted and loyal people we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Layne and Maddy, we hope you know how much your friendship means to us. We will always remember sitting across from you at Starbucks for the first time, seeing the pure joy in your eyes as you talked about how you met, how Layne proposed, and your plans for your perfect wedding day. Even though we were all miserably cold and wind burnt at your engagement session, it could not have been more fun! Your wedding day weather was the opposite of your E-session, being 100 degrees outside, but it absolutely could not have been more perfect. Thank you for keeping us laughing, crying, and feeling like a part of your family through the entire experience. We hope you’re having a fabulous time in Mexico, and can’t wait to see all of the photos on Facebook! (Because we know there will be plenty!) We love you guys!
